75. 恭喜發財! – 16 Feb 13

Hello my dear family!

We had a wonderful Chinese New Year. I included some pictures of eating at members homes! We have 6 missionaries in our ward, so it has been fun to all get together! This week has been really interesting. The whole entire country literally shuts down for New Years. So that has had its challenges, but overall it was really fun to get to participate in the culture of Asian holidays!

During Guonian (New Years) there are some really fun food dishes we get to try such as:

– Pigs Foot
– Pigs Ear
– 皮蛋 (pidan) which is kind of like a fermented egg
– All sorts of Tofu
– Dumplings (mostly boiled)
– Coconut milk, Taro, and Rice soup
– Chicken Feet
– Lots and lots of rice

and much much more! Anyways, I have really come to love the food here! It is wonderful!

Tonight we have a baptism for two of our investigators. I am a little out of time I will tell you all about them and how it went next week!

Love you,

– Elder Spencer K. Bailey
