62. 我要感謝您 – 17 Nov 12

Wow, my dear family! These weeks fly past! One of the reasons is most likely because of the packed full week we have had out here in the Taiwan Taichung Mission.

This past week we had a mission tour of:

  • Elder Wilson (gave the conference talk about agency, and just happens to be the Dad of one of my brothers in SigEp)
  • Elder Gonzalez (of the Presidency of the Seventy)
  • Elder Ruan (阮長老) (A local Area 70 in my ward in 北區)

It was extremely fun we got to accompany them and follow them around the island and have a total of 4 meetings between all our missionaries. We would take care of getting all the sound, food, buildings and what not set up so it would run smooth. This week we only slept two nights in our own bed. Although we learned a lot and it was fun to tour around Taiwan, it was nice to come back to our own bed.

Each General Authority brought excellent messages about the power of the Book of Mormon. It is the power behind what we live and do each day! Elder Wilson talked about the ups and downs of life. How they are normal yet we must choose to repent and learn, so when we are in the dips of life (because they will happen) we can continue to rise. Despite the ups and downs, we can keep ourselves on an upward trend. He discussed the importance of observation. I find it so important because this was the same topic Elder Gong of the Area Presidency addressed nearly one year ago. My dear family, are you quick to observe and then use your observations to introduce the doctrines of our Savior, Jesus Christ, to those who are searching for truth?

The past two weeks I have been in a threesome–Elder Hansen, me, and Elder Wang (王長老). Elder Hansen has been unloading his brain on me of how to run the mission the past two weeks and is leaving on Monday. So I’m a little nervous.

I included a picture of my companion Elder Wang. He is from Taipei, his English is remarkable and he is super funny. And, as you can tell from our clothes, I’ve almost convinced him to become an Aggie.

I also included some mission tour pictures and one of the beautiful super chapel stake centers that are in Taiwan!

Remember, look heavenward, because what you see is what you get! In this spirit of Thanksgiving, please know I am thankful to each and everyone of you who has touched my life for good! Never stop being a mortal angel!

Faithfully,

Elder Spencer K. Bailey
